Diagnosis. Smooth carapace; maxilliped 3 propodus 1.41 times carpus length; uropodal peduncle 0.89 times last pleonite length in female, 0.93 in male.
Description. Subadult female (holotype MGAB CUM 1750).
Body size: 1.7 mm ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 A).
Carapace ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 A). Smooth integument, 0.48 times rest of body length, broken, 1.76 times as long as high, pseudorostrum 0.48 times frontal lobe length, five lenses on ocular lobe, smooth ventral margin with an anterior ventral corner less visible.
Pereon, 0.22 times entire body length.
Pleon, 0.45 times entire body length, one dorsal posterior seta on articles 1–5.
Antenna 1 ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 B). Basal article of peduncle 0.9 times as long as rest of articles together, main flagellum 0.86 times apical article of peduncle length, minute accessory flagellum, long aesthetascs.
Maxilliped 3 ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 C). Basis 0.49 times as long as rest of articles together, two long pappose setae on outer process; merus 3.33 times as long as ischium, one pappose seta on outer margin; carpus 0.85 times as long as merus, one pappose seta on medial distal margin; propodus 1.41 times as long as carpus, two pappose setae on medial margin; dactylus 0.5 times as long as propodus, terminal robust seta as long as dactylus length; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 1 ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 D). Basis 0.45 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 1.33 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on each margin, carpus 1.7 times as long as merus, one simple seta on medial margin; propodus 0.85 times as long as carpus, one simple seta on medial distal margin, one plumose seta on outer distal margin; dactylus 0.48 times as long as propodus, terminal robust seta 0.93 times dactylus length; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 2 ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 E). Basis 0.6 times as long as rest of articles combined length; merus 4.33 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin; carpus 1.38 times as long as merus, one simple seta on medial margin, two on outer margin; propodus 0.68 times as long as carpus length; dactylus 1.46 times as long as propodus length, serrate margins, three short setae on medial margin, one short and one long simple seta on outer margin, one subterminal seta on both margins and one terminal robust seta 1.21 times dactylus length; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 3 ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 F). Basis 0.76 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 1.1 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin, carpus 1.36 times as long as merus; propodus 1.26 times as long as carpus; dactylus 0.37 times as long as propodus, fused with terminal long robust seta.
Pereopod 4 ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 G). Basis 0.52 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 1.5 times as long as ischium; carpus 1.66 times as long as merus; propodus 0.76 times as long as carpus; dactylus 0.37 times as long as propodus, fused with terminal long robust seta.
Pereopod 5 ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 H). Basis 0.39 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 1.88 times as long as ischium; carpus 1.82 times as long as merus; propodus 0.7 times as long as carpus; dactylus 0.38 times as long as propodus, fused with terminal long robust seta.
Uropod ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 I). Peduncle 0.89 times last pleonite length, two simple setae on medial margin, 1.13 times endopod length, exopod 0.63 times endopod length, one simple short seta on outer margin of proximal article, terminal robust seta 0.84 times exopod length; one simple seta and one subterminal one on endopod medial margin, terminal robust seta 0.56 times endopod length.
Description. Subadult male (paratype MGAB CUM 1751).
Body size: 1.97 mm.
Carapace ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 A). Smooth integument, 0.69 times rest of body length, 0.5 times as long as high, pseudorostrum 0.28 times frontal lobe length, five lenses on ocular lobe, smooth ventral margin, anterior ventral corner not prominent.
Antenna 1 ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 B). Basal article of peduncle 1.07 times rest of articles combined length, middle article 1.07 times apical article length, main flagellum 1.14 times apical article of peduncle length, minute accessory flagellum, long aesthetascs.
Maxilliped 3 ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 C). Basis 0.75 times as long as rest of articles together, short serration on medial margin, two long pappose setae on outer process; merus 3 times as long as ischium, one denticle on medial margin, one pappose seta on outer margin; carpus 1.06 times as long as merus, one pappose seta on medial margin; propodus 1.8 times as long as carpus, two pappose setae on medial margin, one plumose short seta on outer margin; dactylus 0.37 times propodus length, terminal robust seta as long as dactylus; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 1 ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 D). Basis 0.71 times as long as rest of articles together, simple setae on distal half of medial margin and one simple seta on medial margin, outer margin with a crest; merus 1.72 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin of ischium, one simple seta on each margin of merus; carpus 2.27 times as long as merus, three simple setae on medial margin, one on outer margin, propodus 0.7 times carpus length; dactylus 0.55 times as long as propodus, terminal robust seta 0.93 times dactylus length; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 2 ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 E). Basis 0.73 times rest of articles together, one simple seta on medial distal margin; merus 3.75 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin; carpus 1.66 times as long as merus, three stout setae on medial distal margin, two plumose setae on outer margin; dactylus 1.75 times as long as propodus, three simple short setae on medial margin, two on outer margin, two subterminal stout setae and one terminal robust seta 1.43 times dactylus length; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 3 ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 F). Basis as long as rest of articles together, one simple seta on medial margin, merus 2 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin of ischium and merus; carpus 0.25 times as long as merus, one simple short seta on outer margin; propodus 0.85 times as long as carpus; dactylus 0.29 times propodus length, fused with tyerminal robust seta; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 4 ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 G). Basis 0.65 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 1.5 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on outer margin; carpus 1.81 times as long as merus, one simple short seta on medial margin of carpus, propodus 0.83 times carpus length, one simple short seta on medial margin; dactylus 0.22 times propodus length, one simple short seta on outer margin, fused with terminal robust curved seta; incompletely developed exopod.
Pereopod 5 ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 H). Basis 0.53 times as long as rest of articles combined length, merus 2.5 times ischium length, one simple short seta on outer margin, carpus 0.57 times merus length, propodus 0.75 times carpus length, one simple short seta on medial margin; dactylus 0.2 times propodus length, fused with terminal robust curved seta.
Uropod ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 I). Peduncle 0.93 times last pleonite length, 1.13 times endopod length, one simple seta on outer margin, three on medial one; exopod 0.54 times endopod length, terminal robust seta 0.9 times exopod length; endopod with one simple short seta, one subterminal seta on medial margin and one terminal robust seta 0.54 times endopod length.
Etymology. The new species bears the name of the locality Enrique reef from La Parguera, Puerto Rico.
Remarks. Cumella enriquensis sp. nov. is related to other species with smooth integument of carapace and short uropods with two setae on endopod: C. micruropus (Zimmer, 1943) , C. iliffei Băcescu, 1992 , C. meredithi Băcescu, 1971 and C. solomoni Petrescu, Chatterjee & Schizas, 2013 ( Calman, 1911; Băcescu, 1971, 1992; Petrescu et al., 2013). It differs in: 1) carapace with smooth ventral margin vs. serrate in C. solomoni ; 2) pereon and pleon without long setae on articles like in C. iliffei ; 3) uropodal endopod with two setae like in C. micruropus vs. three in C. meredithi and C. iliffei ; 4) uropod longer than last pleonite vs. shorter in C. micruropus .
