Type material: Holotype, male ( ZISP, gen.pr. Nr. 1992), INDONESIA, SUMATRA, Kedah, Gunung Leuser , 14.ii.2023, Omelko M.M. leg.
Description. External characters.
Head, thorax and tegulae dark-brown. Labial palpi brown from upside, second segment from below framed with tiny light scales, third segment dark-brown. Labial palpi long, twice longer than eye diameter in length, slightly curved and bent up. Antennae dark-brown, with alternating tiny white longitudinal strokes. Wingspan 12 mm. Fore wings brown with bright bronze portions in shape of various spots, stripes and dots. Two bright bronze dote, located vertically, on first lobe distally. Deep cut on top of second lobe. Fringe inside cleft yellow, distally with dark portions of scales. Hind wings brown, monochrome. Third lobe very short, three times shorter than second one. No bundle of dark scales on third lobe. Hind leg bright-bronze, shiny, spur and tarsus brown.
Male genitalia. Valves symmetric, narrow. Saccular processes slightly extending beyond valve edge, apically acute. Tegumen simple, not forked. Uncus shaped as elongated triangle with rounded apex, not extending edge of tegumen. Vinculum shaped as elongated lamina with rounded notch on top. Aedeagus noticeably longer than valve, thin, crescent, slightly extended basally.
Female unknown.
Differential diagnosis. In the wings color and in the deep notch on the fore wing second lobe top, the species is similar to Xyroptila masaia Kovtunovich & Ustjuzhanin, 2006 . In the male genitalia, in the long crescent aedeagus, the species is similar to Xyroptila fulciformis Kovtunovich & Ustjuzhanin, 2006 , and in the vinculum shape it has some similarity with Xyroptila kuranda Kovtunovich & Ustjuzhanin, 2006 .
Note. The genus Xyroptila Meyrick, 1908 is widely represented in the Sunda Archipelago. Of its 27 species, known throughout the world, 10 live on the Sunda Islands ( Meyrick 1908; Kovtunovich & Ustjuzhanin 2006; Gielis & de Vos 2007).
Distribution. Indonesia, Sumatra.
