Distribution: Palaeotropical, penetrates to Palaearctic. In Africa: British Indian Ocean Territory, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Comoros, DR Congo, Egypt, Gambia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Réunion, Saint Helena, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe ( De Prins & De Prins 2018) and Mali (new record). Also in: Australasia: Australia; Oriental: India, Sri Lanka; Nearctics: North America and Palaearctics: Southern Europe ( Wikipedia 2018).
