Chorinus heros was first reported for Barbados by Schomburgk (1848: 655). This was followed by the report by A. Milne-Edwards (1873: 86) of Chorinus heros for Barbados. Rathbun (1921: 81) reported one immature female specimen collected at Pelican Island by the Barbados-Antigua Expedition in 1918 (USNM 72988). Additionally, Rathbun (1925: 306–307) reported one male specimen of Chorinus heros as collected from Barbados by N.T. Gill; this specimen is stored at the Museum of Comparative Zoology (MCZ 1268).
