Remarks. The single specimen of Laleonectes vocans was caught in crab traps placed on sandy bottoms (~ 4m deep) on the west coast of Barbados. Laleonectes vocans is very rare in Barbados and only one specimen was collected during this study. It was first reported as Portunus (Portunus) vocans by Collins & Morris (1976: 124) who collected a right chela fossil of Laleonectes vocans from Pleistocene coral rock at Highgate, St. Michael, Barbados.
