Material examined: ♂ ♀♀ China, Hainan, Changjiang / Bawangling 2006. V. 3 Bai X.S. / Ent. Mus. CAU Beijing // Aradus / wuzhisanensis / Liu, 1981 / det. Bai Xiaoshuan 2007 // Aradus / candidatus / Bergroth / det. E. Heiss 2009 ( CAU, 1♂ 1♀ CEHI).

When examining the type material of Aradus candidatus Bergroth 1889 , which was described upon specimens from Burma ( Myanmar), the habitus of both sexes and genitalic structures of the male were figured ( Heiss 1989). Dissecting now male specimens of wuzhisanensis for the study of the unknown genitalic structures ( Fig.1–5, 7–11 View FIGURES 1–16 ) EH noted that they are not different from those of candidatus . This was then confirmed by comparing it with further candidatus specimens from Thailand and Laos, which showed also no differences in wuzhisanensis in general aspect, colouration, structure of antennae, and male genitalia. The record from Hainan Province extends the known distribution area of SE Asian mainland eastward; it may be expected that this species occurs also in other countries like Cambodia and Vietnam or even in southern mainland China.

Therefore we propose the following synonymy: Aradus candidatus Bergroth 1889 = Aradus wuzhisaneneis Liu 1981 , new synonymy.
