Leptognoriste , new genus
DIAGNOSIS: Palpi short, 4segmented. Mouthparts form short proboscis or reduced. Laterotergites and mediotergite setose. Wing membrane with macrotrichia. Sc long, ends at C. Costa produced beyond R 5, not reaching wing apex. M 1 absent. M 2 reduced at the base. RS base transverse. M 3+4 and CuA fork stalked. Hind coxae shorter than fore and mid ones. Male genitalia simple.
TYPE SPECIES: Leptognoriste davisi , n.sp.
ETYMOLOGY: The name is a combination of leptos (Greek λeπτóơ, or thin, lean) and the genus name Gnoriste . The new name is feminine.
