Diagnosis. This new species can be distinguised by the costal margin with a yellowish grey spot before the distal 1/3. It is similar to P. cornigera Meyrick, 1918 in features of the male genitalia, but can be separated from the latter by the gnathos widened distally, the sacculus with a right angle curved before the apex, and the aedeagus with two small cornuti almost equal length. In P. cornigera , the gnathos is slightly narrowed apically, the sacculus is smoothly arched preapically, and the aedeagus has two cornuti greatly different in length.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1‒6 ). Wingspan 9.0‒ 11.5 mm. Head with vertex brown, frons grey, occiput dark brown. Labial palpus with second segment ochreous yellow on inner surface, dark ochreous yellow on outer surface; third segment black, basal 1/4 and apex white dorsally. Antenna black; scape white ventrally, with a longitudinal white line dorsally; pecten white; flagellum annulated with white. Thorax and tegula with basal 2/3 dark ochreous yellow, distal 1/3 ochreous yellow. Forewing ochreous yellow; costal area covered with dense grey and black scales along basal 2/3; costal margin with a yellowish grey spot before distal 1/3 and with ill-defind black spot before and beyond it; dorsum with black scales medially, with white streak from about basal 2/5 and distal 1/4 crossing fold, respectively, edged with a few black scales; tornal spot black, conspicuous; apical spot black, formed by a few black scales, sometimes with a white dot; cilia yellow. Hindwing and cilia grey.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 7‒12 ). Uncus broad at base, narrowed to pointed apex, with long setae laterally. Gnathos almost as long as uncus, broad, sub-rectangular, widened apically, with scale-like protuberances distally, obtusely rounded apically. Valva with basal 3/5 wide, subparallel, distal 2/5 narrowed to apex; costa slightly concave basally and distally, convex medially, with a densely setose, overlapped triangular area distally. Sacculus with basal 3/5 wide, distal 2/5 slightly narrowed to apex, curved by a right angle preapically and then produced to pointed apex, with long setae medially. Saccus about 3/5 length of valva, wide at base, narrowed distally. Juxta narrowly connected at base, straight on anterior margin; lateral arm straight, triangularly produced distally, reaching posterior 2/3 of tegumen. Aedeagus almost 2.5 times as long as valva, broad at base, narrowed to basal 1/3, uniformly slender for distal 2/3; with two small spine-like cornuti almost equal in length, one straight, another slightly curved.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13‒15 ). Apophyses anteriores about half length of apophyses posteriores. Lamella postvaginalis large, inverted triangular. Ductus bursae extremely long, basal 1/3‒1/2 membranous, remaining part sclero- tized, distal half coiled, gradually expanded to entrance of corpus bursae. Corpus bursae rounded; signa small, elliptical, edged with denticles.
Distribution. China (Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Taiwan, Zhejiang).
Etymology. The specific epithet of this new species is derived from the Latin volutus, referring to the distally coiled ductus bursae.
