7. Gryllus sp.2 ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 2–25 )
— i) calling song, 4 kHz ± 0.24 (3.63–4.32, n = 11); some individuals emitted only 5, or only 6, or 5 and 6, or 6 and 7 P/ch; 91.1 Ch/min ± 30.5 (42–144, n = 11); Pp = 0.046 s ± 0.004 (0.041 –0.057, n = 11); 25.3ºC ± 0.43 (25–26, n = 11) ( Fig. 74 View FIGURES 68–87 ); ii) State of Rio Grande do Sul, municipalities of Capão do Leão, Pelotas and Rio Grande; State of São Paulo, municipalities of São José dos Campos and Campos do Jordão (Parque Estadual de Campos do Jordão); iii) present paper. Note: G. assimilis and Gryllus sp. 2 . G. assimilis differs from Gryllus sp. 2 in their chirps with higher number of pulses, and lower Pp (0.017 –0.022 versus 0.041 –0.057). In addition, Gryllus peruviensis (from Peru) has a variation of three to seven pulses per chirp (generally five) and a gradual increase in frequency from the first to the last pulse of the chirp ( Leroy 1966).
