Holotype: ZMB 4008 , male, adult, skin (=A 1284) and skull; “ Nossi Vola oder Saralalan ” [according to Tattersall 2022 Nosivola, east of Lake Alaotra ], Madagascar; collected by A. Crossley, 1869, vend. Gerrard.
