Oxyethira peruviana Harris & Davenport, 1999 was described from Peru and was only known from the holotype. Two male specimens were collected in Amazonas, the first record of this species from Brazil.
Material examined: BRAZIL: Amazonas: Rio Preto da Eva municipality, tributary to Rio Preto da Eva, 02°38’14.6”S 59°44’09.9”W, 23.iv.2004, J.L. Nessimian, light trap, 1 male ( INPA); tributary to Rio Urubu, 02°17’41.6”S 60°01’16.5”W, 24.v.2004, J.L. Nessimian, light trap, 1 male ( DZRJ).
