Oxyethira picita Harris & Davenport, 1999 was previously known only from the holotype from Peru. A male was now collected for the first time in Brazil, Amazonas.
Material examined: BRAZIL: Amazonas: Rio Preto da Eva municipality, tributary to Rio Preto da Eva, 02°41’24.3”S 59°42’01.8”W, 24.iv.2004, J.L. Nessimian, light trap, 1 male ( INPA).
