Lectotype (designated here):— INDIA. Evergreen forests of the Western Ghats in Travancore, near Chimunji, elev. 1300 m, April 1895, Bourdillon 580 ( K! [barcode K000821387 ]). Remaining syntype:— Bourdillon 787 ( K! [barcode K001000002 ]).

Distribution:— India [Kerala, Tamil Nadu]; 750‒1700 m.

Notes:—Of the two syntypes mentioned in the protologue, Bourdillon 580 is selected as lectotype because it has better reproductive material (buds and flowers) than Bourdillon 787.
