Distribution:— India [Kerala, Tamil Nadu]; 1200‒1500 m.
Notes:— Duthie (1878 –9) lists Beddome as collector of the type. The single sheet from Beddome’s herbarium at BM comprises two separate collections, numbered 2868 and 2869. We have chosen the former as lectotype because of the more specific type locality and leaf sizes that are closer to those given in the protologue, and the better quality inflorescence.
