Diagnosis. Most similar to C. langebergense in the extensive nongranulate areas of the dorsum; differing in having the pronotal sides emarginate instead of straight behind midlength, the pronotal disc more convex, the body size smaller, the elytra slightly shorter and the setose areas of the 2nd elytral interval less prominent; females have the last tergite bilobate in C. endroedyi , arcuate in C. langebergense ; the aedeagi of the two species are quite distinct (Figs. 10, 35).
Description. Size (length/width, mm x 100) holotype: body (length to elytral apices) 245/107, head 59/63, pronotum 59/94, elytra 152/107. Body piceous, legs dark brown. Granules on frons and pronotum similar in size, finer and sparser on clypeus. Maxillary palpus length ca. 3/4 width of anterior margin of clypeus, last three palpomeres subequal in length and maximum width. Mentum weakly produced apicomedially; depressed on each side of midline near base.
Pronotum with nongranulate areas, including middle of median groove, part of lateral depressions, and along base; sides angulate at midlength, emarginate in front of and less so behind angulation; disc quite convex, median groove comparatively deep.
Elytral intervals: 2nd with unilinear row of slightly raised granules, interrupted in two small areas; 4th similar but even less raised; 6th with unilinear row of granules except interrupted in small area in front of midlength; 1st and 3rd wider and nongranulate over basal 1/4, then becoming narrower and with unilinear row of very fine and sparse granules; 5th and 7th with more closely spaced, larger unilinear row of granules.
Metasternum with oval depression. Female last sternite not emarginate, depression large, rimmed posteriorly; last tergite not bilobate, very weakly emarginate apicomedially if at all, margin bearing strong short spines.
Aedeagus length 0.52 mm; mainpiece nearly straight in ventral aspect, strongly sinuate in lateral aspect, gradually widened from major bend to distal end, ridged process large; gonopore process on about same level as ridged process, angulate toward distal just before tip, about same length as ridged process; membranous process strongly arcuate, narrow (Fig. 10).
Etymology. Named in honor of the late Sebastian EndrödyYounga.
Distribution. Currently known from Eastern Cape Province, the Drakensberg Mountains of Natal Province, and Transvaal Province (Fig. 67).
