TYPE MATERIAL — Holotype, ♂, Papua New Guinea. NE New Guinea, Wau , Hospital Ck, 1200-1300 m, 7-13.XII.1964, J. Sedlacek, Malaise Trap, Bishop Mus. ( BPBM).

DESCRIPTION — MALE: Body length 3.3 mm. Head and mesosoma black; metasoma dark castaneous. Head (Figure 67). Mandible with four apical teeth. Clypeus with median lobe subtrapezoidal; median tooth angled; median carina complete apically and straight in profile. Frons strongly coriaceous. Mesosoma. Pronotal disc with anterior margin ecarinate, strongly coriaceous. Metapectal-propodeal complex with lateral and posterior areas partly carinate. Metasoma (Figure 162). Tergal process without depressions, with small and thin setae; with small tubercle, conical in longitudinal section, low, entirely dorsad, with small pit on top, without setae. Hypopygium (Figure 253) with median stalk evenly narrow, 1.37 x as long as hypopygial plate; lateral stalk triangular; posterior margin strongly concave. Genitalia (Figures 478-479). Paramere with basal margin slightly excavated. Aedeagal dorsal body with apex as high as parameral apex, evenly narrow, narrowing abruptly apicad. Aedeagal ventral ramus with apex lower than aedeagal dorsal body apex; apical region with digitiform projections. Digitus and cuspis small. Genital ring straight, each half straight in dorsal view.

FEMALE: Unknown.

ETYMOLOGY — The noun in apposition renbo means rainbow in Tok Pisin.
