Troxodania decumanus ( Krczal, 1959)
This species was described from Germany from a rotten stump of pine ( Krczal 1959). Mašan (1993) reported it from Slovakia phoretic on Trox sabulosus Linnaeus ( Coleoptera : Trogidae ). It was also recorded from Russia phoretic on Trox cadaverinus Illiger ( Khaustov & Trach 2014) .
Material examined. Five females, Iran, Northwestern Iran , Ardabil province, Meshgin-shahr , Ahmad Abad village , 38.21°N, 47.35°E, phoretic on Onthophagus furcatus Fabricius ( Coleoptera : Scarabaeidae ) collected in dung pads of cow, 17 May 2016, coll. M. Sobhi. GoogleMaps
Remarks. The genus Troxodania is a new record for the fauna of western Asia. Most mites of the genus Troxodania have been recorded from different trogid beetles ( Coleoptera : Trogidae ) ( Khaustov & Trach 2014). Therefore, the association between this genus of mites and beetles of the family Scarabaeidae (Insecta: Coleoptera ) is new.
