Carineta cristalinea Champanhet, 2001 View in CoL
Carineta cristalinea Champanhet 2001: 105 View in CoL . (Cristal-Maya, 550 m, Bolivia)
REMARKS. Although Champanhet (2001) said the species is allied to C. centralis , C. illustris and C. trivittata when he described this species, the lack of broad infuscation in the apical cells of the wings quickly distinguishes it from C. centralis and C. illustris . It also lacks the central fuscous spot of infuscation near the distal hind wing radial cell found in C. centralis . It can be distinguished from C. trivittata by the lack of bronzing of the fore wings and lack of spots of infuscation of the fore wing radial crossvein and proximal radius anterior 2 vein, and the spot of infuscation in the distal radial cell of the hind wing. This species is also similar in general appearance to C. maculosa and C. pilifera Walker, 1858c but can be distinguished from these species by the linear marks within the distal fore wing apical cells found in C. cristalinea .
DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported only from Bolivia ( Sanborn 2013).
