Anastrepha lanceola Stone, 1942 View in CoL
Specimen Data: COLOMBIA. Ƥ, Tolima. Ibagué, 8.IX.2004, M. R. Castañeda & A. Osorio, McPhail Trap (MEN-UT).
This species had been reported from Costa Rica, Panama and Peru ( Norrbom, 2004). The specimen collected in Colombia is smaller than the type specimens, but the shape of the aculeus, dorsobasal scales in the eversible membrane and the wings indicate that it is this species. Other useful characters include: ocellar setae small; scutal vittae absent, katepisternal setae long and thin; wings 7.0 mm long, 2.83 mm wide, all bands separated, V band diffuse at apex; oviscape 2.77 mm long.
