Description. Length of female 4.1 mm (male unknown). Overall color reddish brown, forewing margin with alternating bands of white and brown coloration. Head with dorsal projections in dorsal view separated from each other by less than length of each projection; frontal carina well developed, extended continuously between antennal ledges. Pronotum with small median crest posteriorly. Female sternite VII with median posterior notch slightly shallower and broader than in D. wygodzinskyorum .
Material examined. Holotype female, Colombia: Bogota: Páramo de Monserrate, April–Nov. 1968, Sturm. collector ( AMNH).
Note. Although this species is known only from a single female specimen, it is easily distinguishable from the type species of the genus by the smaller size, different coloration, and more closely set dorsal projections of the head.
