Holotype: ♀, Taiwan Hsinchu Chingchuan, 24°34´N, 120°06´E, 1989-XII-21, leg. Huang Kun-Wei. GoogleMaps
Location of type specimens: Holotype, ♀, National Museum of Natural Science, Taichung, Taiwan, China.
Female: Body median in size. The width of frontal ridge between antennae narrower than the distance between two eyes in vertex. Antennae filiform. Longitudinal diameter of eyes 1.7 times horizontal diameter and 1.8 times subocular furrow. Anterior margin of pronotum with dintinct hollow in the middle and hind margin with hollow slightly in the middle. The prozona is 1.5 times metazoan in length. Prosternal process conical, apex slender. Tegmina oval, length 2.0 times maximum width, extending over the hind margin of first abdominal tergum slightly. The length of interspace of mesosternum equal to narrowest. Length of the hind femur as long as 4.5 times of maximum width. Hind tibia with 10 spines on inner and 9 spines on outer sides, external apical spine absent. Epiproct triangular, basal part with longitudinal groove in the middle. Subgenital plate longer than ovipositor valves ventral view. Cercus short-conical, not reaching the end of epiproct. Ovipositor valve hooked in the end, outer margin smooth.
Body yellowish green. Eye brown. Black postocular band reaching the hind margin of pronotum only. Tegmina brown. Hind femur yellow-green, knee black. Hind tibiae yellowish-green and hind tarsus yellowish brown.
Male unknown.
Measurement (in mm). Length of body: ♀ 33.5. Length of tegmina: ♀ 5.4. Length of pronotum: ♀ 6.2. Length of hind femur: ♀ 15.8.
Diagnosis. The new species is similar to Sinopodisma orchofemura sp. nov., the major differences are listed in Table 2.
Etymology The specific epithet is named for Hsinchu, the type locality.
