Afrotropical: 1) Angola, 2) Botswana, 3) Mozambique, 4) Namibia, 5) South Africa, 6) Tanzania, 7) Zambia, 8) Zimbabwe ( Norval et al. 1982, Tandon 1991, Walker et al. 2000, Kolonin 2009, Horak et al. 2018).

Rhipicephalus appendiculatus is morphologically very similar to Rhipicephalus zambeziensis , and differentiation of these species is sometimes difficult ( Walker et al. 2000, Horak et al. 2018).
