Description of Rhizobium paranaense HMF 5594
Cells are Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-flagellated and rod shaped. Colonies grown on R2 A agar are white, circular, convex and smooth. Oxidase activity is positive. In the API 20NE test, cells are positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, urease, β -galactosidase, and assimilation of N -acetyl-glucosamine; but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, and assimilation of D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malate, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain HMF5594 (= NIBRBAC000508754) was isolated from a soil sample collected from Yongin, Republic of Korea (37°20 ʹ 18.3 ʺ N 127°16 ʹ 01.3 ʺ E) GoogleMaps .
