Xyleborus rubricollis Eichhoff, 1875: 202 .

Distribution: Throughout China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, West Malaysia. Introduced to North America and Australia ( Rabaglia et al. 2006). [4]

Hosts: Polyphagous ( Wood & Bright 1992).

Biology: It usually attacks stems from about 2–15 cm diameter ( Browne 1961). The species is known to have preoral mycangia at the base of the mandibles ( Takagi 1967).

Taxonomy: Also recorded from Taiwan as its synonym, Xyleborus taboensis Schedl ( Schedl 1952a) .
