Identification. Alocasia princeps is distinguished by the GoogleMaps
leaf blade leathery but not subsucculent that is dark green and shining at least when young ( Hay 1998).
Distribution and ecology. Widespread in Sabah. In rain forest generally on well-drained slopes and ridgetops, on a variety of substrates including basalt and limestone, from more or less sea level to ca. 1200 m elev.
