Simulium (Gomphostilbia) hoiseni Takaoka, 2008a: 9 View in CoL –14 (Male and pupa).
This species was described from a male reared from a pupa ( Takaoka, 2008a). Its female and larva remain unknown. It is characterized in the male by abdominal segments 2–8 each with a pair of shiny dorsolateral or lateral patches, and in the pupa by the gill with six filaments.
This is a rare species being found once only from the type stream (at an elevation of 1,570 m) in Cameron Highlands. No additional specimens are available from the type locality or nearby streams.
