Diagnosis. Metope with only median carina distinct. Coryphe transverse, with convex anterior margin and concave posterior margin. Ocelli present. Subbrachypterous (forewings just covering abdomen apex). Fore wing with Sc well developed, basal cell large, elongately oval, R 2, furcating closely to basal cell, M 2, furcating near to wing middle, CuA 1. Hind tibia with 3–4 lateral spines.
Note. Iranissus Dlabola placed in synonymy under Issidius Puton based on comparison of Issus rotundiceps type photos published by Holzinger (2019, fig. 1) with the drawings of Iranissus ephedrinus by Dlabola (1980, figs 101, 108) which demonstrate same structure of coryphe (transverse, with convex anterior margin), metope (elongate, with only distinct median carina), and forewings vein sequence mentioned above.
