Xizicus (Eoxizicus) streptocercus Jiao & Shi View in CoL , sp. nov.

( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 )

Male. Body small. Fastigium verticis conical, apex rounded with a longitudinal furrow. Eyes hemispheric, protruding. Pronotum short, anterior margin straight, posterior margin obtusely rounded; lateral lobes of pronotum longer than deep; humeral sinus shallow. Tegmina considerably surpassing apices of postfemora, apices rounded; hind wings longer than tegmina.

All femora without spines on ventral surface. Forecoxa with a spine, apex pointed; foretibiae with 5 spines on inner side and 6 spines on outer side of ventral surface (including a pair of apical spines), apical spines shorter; tibial tympana open on both sides. Mesotibiae with 4 spines on inner side and 5 spines on outer side of ventral surface. Posttibiae with 28–31 spines on inner and outer sides of dorsal surface separately, and a pair of dorsal apical spurs and two pairs of ventral apical spurs.

Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with a pair of long and thin posterior processes, which almost parallel. Cercus base slightly stout, middle part of inner margin with a lamellar process, the edge sinuate; near basal part of ventral margin with a long and flat process, the apex broader ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E). Subgenital plate longer, base broad, narrowing, posterior margin slightly concave and both sides triangled. Styli stout and long on almost a fourth apical area of lateral margins of subgenital plate, nearly conical ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 D).

Coloration. Body green. Eyes dark brown. Pronotum with a pair of brown stripes on posterior area of disc. The spines on dorsal surface of posttibiae brown, apices of apical spurs of posttibiae brown.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements (mm). Body: ♂13.5; pronotum: ♂5.4; tegmina: ♂19.3; postfemora: ♂11.5.

Type material. Holotype: ♂, Diaoluoshan, Lingshui, Hainan, 8 May 2014, collected by Jiao Jiao.

Discussion. The new species is allied Xizicus (Eoxizicus) parallelus ( Liu & Zhang, 2000) , but it differs from the latter in: male cercus middle part of inner margin with a lamellar process, the edge sinuate; near basal part of ventral margin with a long and flat process, the apex broader; styli stout nd long on almost a fourth apical area of lateral margins of subgenital plate, nearly conical.

Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from the morphology of the inner process of the male cercus.
