Phyllocoptes fabris n. sp. ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 )
Female: (n = 5) Body fusiform, 190 long, 70 wide, 80 thick; light yellow in color. Gnathosoma 30, projecting obliquely down. Prodorsal shield 45 long, 60 wide; prodorsal shield with frontal lobe; median line absent, admedian and submedian lines connected by transverse lines. Dorsal tubercles ahead of rear margin, 25 apart, scapular setae (sc) 6 projecting center. Sternal line absent. Coxal area with granules; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) 6, proximal setae on coxisternum I (1a) 10, proximal setae on coxisternum II (2a) 27. Legs I 33 long, femur 10, basiventral femoral setae (bv) 10; genu 6 long, antaxial genual setae (l'') 30 long; tibia 7, paraxial tibial setae (l') 7, setae located at dorsomedially; tarsus 7 long; tarsal empodium simple, 5rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Legs II 29 long, femur 8, basiventral femoral setae (bv) 8; genu 4 long, antaxial genual setae (l'') 10 long; tibia 6; tarsus 7 long; tarsal empodium simple, 5rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Dorsal opisthosoma with 38 annuli, smooth, ventrally with 75 microtuberculate rings. Setae c2 27 on ventral annulus 12; setae d 26 on ventral annulus 31; setae e 26 on ventral annulus 51; setae f 16 on 6th ventral annulus from rear. Setae h1 5 long. Female genitalia 20 long, 25 wide, coverflap with 6 diagonal ridges, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 20 long.
Male: (n = 5) 165 long, 65 wide; genitalia 5 long, 21 wide, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 10 long.
Type data: Holotype, female, from Abies fabri (Masters) Craib 1919 . ( Pinaceae ), Longyuwan, Luanchuan County, Henan Province, P.R. China, 19 July 2004, coll. X.F. Xue. Paratypes, 4 females and 5 males, with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host: Vagrant on the leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed. Etymology: The specific designation is derived from the species name of the host plant, fabri .
Note: This species is similar to Phyllocoptruta paniculata Huang, 2001 , but can be differentiated from the latter by the coxal area covered with granules, the 5rayed tarsal empodium, and the 6 longitudinal ridges on the coverflap.
