(Plate 6A–D)
Chrysis sabulosa Radoszkowski 1877: 24 .
Type locality: Uzbekistan: “Habitat in monte Karak”, [Three males of this species were collected on the 7th of May 1871 on the Karak mountain].
Lectotype (here designated), ♀ (not ♂): 7. <printed on pink label with red line> // Каракъ <printed> // Chrysis sabulosa Rad. <handwritten red label>.
Remarks. Radoszkowski described Chrysis sabulosa based on three males, but the picture of the species (table II, picture 11) undoubtedly shows a female with an exserted ovipositor. Another female syntype is housed in the Radoszkowski collection (ISEA-PAN) (Rosa et al. 2015). Kimsey & Bohart (1991: 458) placed the holotype doubtfully in ZMMU and considered it as the holotype. According to the Code (ICZN 1999: Article 74.5), it cannot be considered as the lectotype by inference of “ holotype ”. We here designate the lectotype of Chrysis sabulosa Radoszkowski to fix the current interpretation of the species. Kimsey & Bohart (1991: 359) established the C. sabulosa species-group based on three species (“ The three species of the sabulosa group are Palaearctic (s[outh] USSR) ”) previously included by Semenov-Tian-Shansky (1909) in the subgenus Cephalochrysis Semenov, 1909. However, in the following checklist the three species considered as Cephalochrysis by Semenov-Tian-Shansky (1909) are placed in three different species-groups: C. ellampoides Semenov, 1909 in the C. rufitarsis speciesgroup; C. idolon Semenov, 1909 in the C. ehrenbergi species-group; C. sabulosa Radoszkowski, 1877 in the C. sabulosa species-group. No other species are included in the C. sabulosa species-group. The diagnostic characteristics given by Kimsey & Bohart (1991) for separation of the C. sabulosa species-group from the C. ehrenbergi species-group can be considered as diagnostic characteristics valid for the species identification within the C. ehrenbergi species-group, as already reported by Linsenmaier (1959: 168). Therefore, we believe that C. sabulosa Radoszkowski can be considered as a member of the C. ehrenbergi species-group.
