Hedychrum Erschovi Radoszkowski 1877: 6 .

Type locality: “Habitat in valle Sarafschan et in Ferghana”, [Two males were collected on the 18th of May 1860 [!] at Zaravshan Valley and the 28th of June 1871 at Sokh; one female on the 8th of July 1871 at Shakhimardan].

Remarks. Hedychrum erschovi was traditionally considered as a synonym of Hedychridium roseum ( Rossi, 1790) . However, it clearly belongs to a distinct species, characterised by the coarse punctuation on the metasoma, colour of head and mesosoma, and occipital area (temples) with subparallel sides under compound eye (similar to H. mediocrum Linsenmaier ). The date given by Radoszkowski for the specimen collected at Zaravshan Valley (18.VI.1860) is obviously a printing error; the specimen was collected on the 18th of May 1869. The repository of the specimen collected at Shahimardan is unknown. The syntypes are females and not males. In Kimsey & Bohart (1991: 203) the type repository of the type series is doubtfully ZMMU.

Current status. Hedychridium erschovi ( Radoszkowski, 1877) , status revived.
