Material. MALAWI: 1 male, 1 female, South Zomba Plateau, Mountain Rd, 1200m., 5.x.1998, F. Kaplan & A. Freidberg ( TAU)
Remarks. First record for Malawi. The male is atypical in that it lacks an anterior supra-alar seta, a common aberration in some other species of sg. Dacus (variant included in revised key; revised couplet 114). Both specimens lack an anterior notopleural seta.
