Gaesa pammiges Ghesquière, 1940 — Revue de Zoologie et Botanique Africaines, 34 (1), 103–104.

Type material. Holotype ♂, Musée du Congo, [ DR Congo] Eala, v.1936, J. Ghesquière, 2623 | Holotype, G. pammiges ♂ | R. Det. D 4408 | Gaesa pammiges Ghesquière, 1940 , ♂ | gen. slide 251/24, O. Bidzilya ( RMCA) .

Remarks. Gaesa pammiges was described based on the male holotype, whose external characters and genitalia match those of Dichomeris . Therefore, we herewith transfer this species to the latter genus. The species is characterized by apically rounded, light brown forewing with a brown spot at the end of the cell. Dichomeris byrsoxantha (Meyrick, 1918) from South Africa remotely resembles D. pammiges , but differs in lighter, yellowish brown rather than light brown forewing with two additional brown spots in the cell.

Male genitalia (described here for the first time, Figs 13d–e View FIGURES 12–16. 12 ). Uncus spatulate, broad, weakly constricted medially, apex rounded; gnathos strongly curved at middle, distal half strongly sclerotized; tegumen weakly broadened at middle, twice as long as wide, approximately twice as broad and twice as long as uncus, anterior margin with short triangular emargination; cucullus narrow to 2/3, then broadened, apex rounded, extending well beyond tip of uncus; valvella short, broadly rounded; sacculus slender, weakly broadened at base and in apical 3/4, apex rounded, extending to 2/3 of cucullus; juxta processes slender, left process slightly narrower and longer than right process, extending to 4/5–5/6 of cucullus; saccus subrectangular, slightly elongated; phallus twice as long as tegumen and uncus, basal 1/4 narrow, then parallel-sided, weakly tapered apically, with two slender lateral cornuti broadened and toothed basally.

Distribution. DR Congo: Équateur Province.
