Features: Length 46–58 μm, width 16–19 μm, striae 6–7 in 10 μm.
Description: Valves broadly lanceolate, slightly constricted at the center. Raphe branches straight, ending centrally in simple pores. Axial area large, central area small. Transapical striae parallel at the center, strongly radiate near the apices. Areolae transapically dilated.
Remarks: This species has been widely reported as Oestrupia musca (Gregory) Hustedt (1935: 17) .
Ecology and Distribution: A widely distributed marine species. Previously reported from the Gulf (Al-Yamani & Saburova 2011). Common in Basra corals.
