Leveillula View in CoL View at ENA on Dodartia orientalis L.
Recently collected plant material of Dodartia orientalis from Iran showed that this plant was heavily infected by a powdery mildew. We identified this species as L. jaczewskii according to Braun and Cook (2012). Moreover, we sequenced ITS rDNA of L. jaczewskii for the first time. This species is closely allied to L. taurica ; both taxa coincide well by having similar teleomorphic characteristics and more or less lanceolate primary conidia. However, four substitution and one insertion/deletion site were found on ITS sequences between this taxon and L. taurica on Zygophyllum fabago (type host of L. taurica ). This is the first molecular characterization of L. jaczewskii by means of DNA barcoding. A brief description of the species is presented as follows.
