Oliparisca Emeljanov, 2001: 71 View in CoL .

Type species: Oliarus muluensis Van Stalle, 1991 , by original designation.

Diagnostic characters. Body size. Total length varying from 6.0– 10.3 mm.

Head and thorax. Head including eyes narrower than pronotum. Vertex with angularly incised basal emargination; lateral carinae slightly elevated; subapical transverse carina slightly convex or almost straight, connected by two longitudinal small carinae with apical border or not connected with apical border; median longitudinal carina absent or only distinct at basal half of disc. Frons with median carina, frontoclypeal suture arched dorsally. Pronotum short, with a distinct median carina and two intermediate carinae, collar-like. Tegmen with ScP+ R forking basad of CuA, apex with 12–13 apical cells. Chaetotaxy of hind tarsomere 7/ 5 in most species, less commonly 6/5.

Male genitalia. Anal segment with posterior margin variously shaped. Gonostyli symmetrical or asymmetrical, with abrupt basal laterodorsal shelf, basal laterodorsal angle of apical dilation without tooth. Lobes of pygofer markedly asymmetrical, with long or complicate projections.

Female genitalia. Posterior margin of pregenital sternite convex or shallowly excavated in middle. Ovipositor, reduced, with gonapophysis VIII and IX comparatively thin.

Distribution: Oriental Region: China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka.

Remarks. This genus may be easily distinguished from other genera of Pentastirini by the follow features: gonostylus with abrupt basal laterodorsal shelf, basal laterodorsal angle of apical dilation without tooth. Lobes of pygofer markedly asymmetrical, with long or complicate projections. Spinulation of 1st and 2nd tarsomeres of hind legs 7/5 or 6/5.
