Type data

♂ lectotype, ♀ paralectotype, herein designated (ICZN Art. 74.7.3), MNRJ 5314 (examined), from BRAZIL [Mato Grosso], ‘ Xingú ’.

Rationale of the new generic assignment. The type species of Cynorta was redescribed recently ( Kury et al. 2007) and similarities in the shape of the dorsal scutum, armature and colouration pattern with Neocynorta m-inscripta allow its recognition as a member of the genus Cynorta .
