Notes:— Ficus torresiana was synonymized with F. macbridei Standley (1937: 305) by DeWolf (1965), Burger (1977), Berg & Villavicencio (2004) and Berg (2009), but the former species differs from the latter mainly by presence of lateral bracts (absent vs. present in whorls), and basal bract length (6.0–8.0 vs. 2.0–3.0 mm long). These species are also centered in different biogeographic provinces. Ficus macbridei is centered on the South Brazilian province and F. torresiana is on the Pacific province.
