MycoBank MB 824306

Material examined: — BRAZIL. Bahia, (Holotype HUEFS 194255!).

Description: as Pseudoacrodictys magnicornuata in Fiuza et al. (2014).

Notes:— The circinate continuous appendages in this species is a unique and very distinctive feature. Ma et al. (2016) compared this species with Pa. balansae pointing out that “conidia in Pa. magnicornuata are paler with denser more appendages (about 9–35), and the appendages are septate, longer (18–50 × 4–7.5 μm), circinate, and scattered around the margin”. We analyzed type material with emphasis in conidial secession and septa, and we conclude that this specie should be combined in Pararhexoacrodictys due to its rhexolytic secession and the nature of their conidial septa, together with its variable conidial morphology.

Geographical distribution: — BRAZIL (as Pseudoacrodictys magnicornuata, Fiuza et al. 2014 ).
