Rhabdias dossei Hartwich, 1972 View in CoL
Host: Bufo bufo ( Amphibia: Anura : Bufonidae ).
Site: lungs.
Distribution: Western Palaearctic (Europe).
Remarks. The species was differentiated from closely related R. bufonis based on differences in relative tail length, 2.9–6.7 % in R. bufonis versus 1.7–3.1 % in R. dossei ( Hartwich 1972) . R. dossei was not found in the material from B. bufo studied by the author of the present issue. However, in the material from frogs identified as R. bufonis , this character ranged within the limits indicated for both species (2.4–5.5 %). Apparently, additional characters are necessary for valid diagnostics of R. dossei .
