Hosts: Lithobates blairi , L. clamitans , L. sphenocephala , Rana aurora ( Amphibia: Anura : Ranidae ) Anaxyrus americanus (Bufonidae) .
Site: lungs.
Distribution: southern Nearctic.
Description (after Kuzmin et al. 2003). Comparatively small species. Body narrow in anterior third, thick and stout in posterior two-thirds. Body length 4.25 (3.67–5.67) mm, maximum width 303 (260–418). Body cuticle swollen in posterior two-thirds, comparatively thin in anterior third of body. Surface of cuticle with fine longitudinal striations in anterior portion of body, and with irregular longitudinal and oblique folds in posterior portion, transverse folds present in posterior quarter of the body cuticle. Anterior end rounded in lateral view, oval shaped in apical view. Six lips present. Four submedian lips situated close to the edge of oral opening, lateral lips situated at some distance from the latter. Six prominent inner circle papillae, 10 small papillae of outer circle, and 2 pore-like amphids present. Lateral hypodermal inflations present posterior to cephalic extremity, reaching the middle of muscular region of oesophagus. Buccal capsule small, cup-like, 9 (7–12) deep, 11 (10–12) wide.
Oesophagus almost cylindrical, with indistinct posterior bulb. Oesophagus length 503 (485–518) (12.0 [8.7–13.6] % of body length). Oesophagus width 25 (22–27) at anterior end, 40 (31–47) at middle of muscular region, 34 (27– 37) at middle of glandular region; posterior bulb 48 (37–55) wide. Nerve ring encircling oesophagus somewhat anterior to midlength, 215 (170–236) from anterior end of oesophagus (42.9 [32.9–46.4] % of oesophagus length). Intestine wide, filled with brown to black contents, with prominent fold anterior to level of vulva. Vulva postequatorial, situated at 2.99 (2.57–3.63) mm from anterior end (70.6 [63.9–74.1] % of body length). Vulva lips indistinct. Eggs numerous, containing larvae. Egg size (n = 20) 98 (90–102) × 52 (47–55). Tail short, conical, 180 (115–203) long (4.3 [3.0–5.0] % of body length).
