Brumptomyia mesai View in CoL was recorded in Veracruz at the localities of Sontecomapan and Arroyo Agrio (Municipality of Catemaco) ( Ibáñez-Bernal 1999). In the current study it was collected from a locality 882 m asl, at the central portion of the state in which dry tropical forest is predominate.

Material examined. Mexico, Veracruz, Municipality of Emiliano Zapata, Chavarillo, dry tropical forest, 15- 05-2008, J.S.-V, col., Malaise trap, 2 males.
