Diagnosis. Frons at narrowest point hardly more than one-third the width of an eye; arista plumose on basal half; scutellum with both pairs of seta present, one basal and one apical; femora brown with grey pollinosity, yellow at tips; tibiae and tarsi yellow; hind tibia without a distinct submedian posterodorsal seta. Sternite 5 “U”shaped ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ).
Male terminalia. Cercal plate as in Fig. 17 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ; surstylus short with spines on posterior margin. Aedeagal complex as in Fig. 18 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ; distiphallus long, membranous at apex.

Notes. This species is included in the C. humilis -group and is very easily identified with Emden’s (1940) key.
Geographical distribution. Tanzania, Ethiopia, Angola.
