Range: — Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, Guyana, Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC, TA), Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay.

Ecology: —Common; in forests along river margins; 150–2000 m.

Notes: —Fronds 1-pinnate-pinnatifid (or sometimes 2-pinnate-pinnatifid); rachises winged; proximal pinnae varying from furcate to pinnatifid, usually on the basiscopic side; margins of segments denticulate, venation copiously areolate, with areoles becoming smaller toward margins of blades.
