Range: —Known only from Bolivia (CO, LP), but to be expected in Peru.

Ecology: —Rare or overlooked; saxicolous in humid grassland and scrubland above timberline; 2500–3900 m.

Notes: —Differs from the more common Cheilanthes pilosa by bearing numerous scales 1–1.5 × 0.1–0.2 mm on the rachises, and smaller, more coriaceous, pouchlike segments 1–3 mm long (vs. 3–5 mm).
