Range: —Antilles; southern Mexico to Bolivia (BE, CH, CO, LP, SC, TA), northern Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil; Madagascar; Sri Lanka; China to Polynesia.
Ecology: —Common; terrestrial in open, rocky places and clay banks, in semihumid forests; 200–2300 m.
Notes: —Blades2-pinnate-pinnatifid to4-pinnate-pinnatisect;rhizomes compact; petioles brown to atropurpureous, channelled adaxially; petiole base scales ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate; segment margins entire.
