Range: —Northern Peru and Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, OR, PO, TA) to northern Chile and central Argentina.
Ecology: —Very common; saxicolous and terrestrial in cliffs, rock crevices, and among rocks in arid regions; (1200–) 2500–4500 m.
Notes: —Blades narrow, linear, 2-pinnate-pinnatifid to 3-pinnate; segments narrow, to 1 mm wide, fingerlike; rhizome scales dark red-brown; rachises densely short-hairy. Herbarium specimens often have shiny, almost varinshed (glutinous) adaxial blade surfaces.
