Syntypes (number uncertain): Not located; possibly in the ZMB .

Testudo semiserrata Smith 1939 :Pl. 6

Syntypes (2): BMNH 1947.3 .5.13 (formerly 1863.2.21.44; illustrated in the original description, Pl. 6), and NMSZ 1859.013.1729 ( Herman et al. 1990:6, who listed it as the “ holotype ”) .
