Heosemys spinosa (Gray 1830:8) View in CoL

Syntypes (2): presumably in the BMNH since it was illustrated in Gray 1830a:Pl. 77 as EMYS SPINOSAE (figure reproduced by Nowak-Kemp & Fritz 2010:13), but not identified as such in Boulenger (1889:138); however, Bourret (1941:159) suggested that the type is specimen “c” in Boulenger (1889:138); that is, BMNH 1862.8.28.1; and OUM 8517 (photographed in Nowak-Kemp & Fritz 2010:14).
