Habitat and locality
Soil from meadow in Mila Mountains, Tibet, China.
Remarks
Tylencholaimus proximus was described by Thorne, 1939 ( Thorne 1939) from Wasatch and Uinta Mountains, Utah USA. This species is widely distributed in Europe and North America and has been recorded from Yugoslavia ( Andrássy 1959), Belgium ( Coomans 1962), Norway (Loof 1971), Spain ( Castillo et al. 1985; Ocaña et al. 1986; Hernández and Jordana 1990; Peña-Santiago and Coomans 1996), and Italy ( Vinciguerra 1986; Vinciguerra and Giannetto 1987). The present population from China conforms well to the description of the original population; slight differences are the comparatively shorter odontophore (vs 8–12 mm) and a more anterior guiding ring position (vs 5.5–6 mm)
